Altoona, Florida, USA

If you live in the (sub)tropics, you might wanna carry out a house control at night. Very large crab moving spiders, dwell in human homes.

They come out from the dark corners at night. But don't be scared, they only hunt down cockroaches with their incredible speed.

They're called: Huntsman spiders

This one I found in our kitchen, emerging slowly from behind the fridge.

After I took a picture, I wanted to catch it in a box. But it didn't want me to catch it, so suddenly it moved fast.

Faster than anything I've ever seen move before!

It moved from ground level to right in front of my head like the switch of a light. I stepped back, and got the biggest chock any spider have ever given me before!

After the encounter it crawled back behind the fridge. I will try and catch it another time.

If I won't succeed at catching it then I might as well name it the housekeeper and get used to it.

Because they will live up to 5 years staying the same place.

The next day, I opened up a forgotten cooler.

Right there: a big Huntsman spider inside.

This time it was a female with a huge and compact egg sack.

And trust me,

I didn't want to try and come between her and her precious offspring.

Even though their bite isn't deadly, it still leaves you in pain, wishing you just left it alone.

Last word for you: spiders are also your friends. They eat all the other unwanted critters in your home.

I'm looking for spiders and other bugs in my bunk bed.
