Birdwatching (or simply called: "birding") is great fun.

It can literally take you anywhere, anytime.

rom your own private garden or a city park to the remote wilderness.

Birds are always present in nature. Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's difficult. It is especially difficult to deal with the huge variety of birds. You can never know what new bird species that awaits you.

I strive to know the names of the birds I see. Being able to recognize the exact bird species by sight or sound gives me joy.

The more I learn about the distinctive characteristics each birds have, the more it opens my eyes for the huge variety and diversity nature beholds.

Go anywhere in the world!

Just bring your binoculars, a notebook and a good field guide of the birdlife in the area you're visiting.

I brought National Geographic's "Birds Of North America" with me to Florida. That baby saved my life here. :)

Many times I have carefully turned every one of the 500 pages and studied each bird.

I have been able to identify 75 species after just two weeks in Florida.

There are a lot of new birds to me here. And I look forward to the many birds I yet have to identify around the world.
