Altoona, Florida, USA.

YEEEES! Finally the "magic" of the black widow spider was revealed to me.

Well hidden between tomato plants I found this while working.

Glad I didn't touch it while weeding the plants.

I had been waiting for this legendary spider to reveal itself.

An entirely black spider, with a red hourglass shape underneath.

The female spider has a bad habit of killing and eating the tiny male after mating. Hence the last name "widow".

The black widow spider is highly venomous. It has a nasty bite for sure. And in many cases medical help is needed.

It is a shy spider which tends to flee away when disturbed. So you should be safe as long as you watch out where you place your hands.

This exact Widow I carefully collected in a cup and relocated it. Away from our working spot
