Already birds are flying south

The September sky was clear and blue this morning.
I felt lucky and went birding at the south side of Vejle Fjord, Denmark. I was birding at the end of a peninsula called Trelde Næs. A place covered with trees.

Many barn swallows came flying in from the north. Some of them came by very closely. They chirped while they soared right above the surface of the sea to catch some lazy bugs.
The bushes behind me were bulging of berries, fruit and insects which were attracting a lot of birds. Amongst them were the chiffchaff, the blackcap, the lesser whitethroat and the common whitethroat.
These species are already migrating southwards for the Winter. Even before the supplies of Autumn have run out.
It was a great experience to hear the beautiful and rare green woodpecker call out loudly from the forest: "cly cly cly".
I enjoyed watching two great ravens appearing over the treetops. They were heading towards the beach but when they saw me they turned around quickly and disappeared into the green depths of the woods.
